MAGA Republicans try to credit former President Donald Trump for as many things as possible. They wouldn't have to do that if he had been an effective President, and when the pandemic hit, he was the worst possible leader we could have had. While Americans were dying, the former President danced and held super-spreader events. He lied about the dangers of Covid by downplaying it. He admitted that to Bob Woodward.
So, of course, during a House Oversight Committee hearing, controversial Rep. Lauren Boebert tried to credit Trump by noting that the former President said the disease came from China.
Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin brilliantly schooled BoBo on the House floor, explaining that the former President praised China's President's handling of Covid at least 20 times.
"So, if there is a problem with the Chinese government unleashing a virus - which has not been proven anywhere - but it certainly could be true, you would have to pin that on your favorite President, Donald Trump, not Joe Biden," Raskin said.
Here's one example:
Then, he brought up Trump's special advisor, Dr. Deborah Birx, who said that the recklessness of Donald's policies "cost Americans hundreds of thousands of lives."
Trump's own advisor called him dangerous. That's how you deal with a Trump sycophant.
UPDATE: Raskin is just so good at this:
