Given the fact that Fox hosts continually put the health of their own viewers at risk during the pandemic, it's no surprise that one of them would also be singing the praises of Pennsylvania Senate candidate Mehmet Oz. During a segment on this Sunday's Fox & Friends, after showing a portion of Obama and Biden stumping for Fetterman and Shapiro in Pennsylvania, and using the occasion to attack both Biden and Fetterman, the hosts fearmongered that the "only hope" for the country was that there is a "red wave" in the midterms, before lying about Trump's supposed record and showing a clip of him stumping for Mehmet Oz over the weekend.
TRUMP: Is there anything better than going to a trump rally on a Saturday night in Pennsylvania? Unfortunately, we have so many bad things happening to our country, we can't celebrate until we start winning. We have to win, and we're going to win a lot. Dr. Mehmet Oz was a great, great doctor, and he'll be an incredible senator.
He'll be focusing on all of the things we're talking about with the crime and the inflation, but he'll also be focused on your health care, because your health care could be much better. There's nobody that knows more about that subject in the senate than Dr. Oz. He'll vote to end Joe Biden's socialist spending spree, and he'll fight runaway inflation, and he's a strong man.
Snake oil salesman is more like it. Which was followed by Rachel Campos-Duffy giving Oz high praise for his horrid record of pushing false and baseless medical claims about covid:
CAMPOS-DUFFY: Yeah, Dr. Oz. By the way, Dr. Oz does -- he mentioned Dr. Oz and healthcare. He's a doctor, he knows about health care, but also Dr. Oz was was one of the early skeptics of the covid rules and mandates and prescriptions for how to deal with it.
So I think he deserves credit on that, because he was a very independent thinker very early on when he was getting slammed very hard because, remember, he came, kind of came out of that Hollywood world that had one mindset about it, so he deserves a little credit on that.
The only thing he deserves credit for is putting God knows how many Americans' health at risk, just as the hosts on Fox did day after day, month after month if they thought it would benefit Republicans politically.
As Insider reported last year, Oz was one of Fox & Friends favorite guests, where he did things like push hydroxychloroquine for covid and pushed raspberry ketones to burn fat. The article also has a long list of other quack medical advice this guy has been giving over the years.
If any of these people were actually getting the treatment they deserved for the lies they pushed during the pandemic, and prior to that in Oz's case, they'd all be sued into oblivion, but sadly for reasons I can't understand, that hasn't happened yet.
