Otis Spann is probably best known as the piano player on a lot of prime Chess records cuts. As a singer though, not as much. After being deeply effected by the death of Martin Luther King, he took the mic and laid down a very moving vocals. Released in “Blues for Martin Luther King”, the feelings pour out in over a somber blues piano.
