The couch panel on Fox News' "Outnumbered" was furious from what they considered unsubstantiated rumors from Democrats that ousted Trump's pick to run the VA.
In Fox-land it's never Donald Trump's fault or the people he picks that are to be blamed when controversy reigns down upon their heads that they've caused themselves.
Corey Lewandowski was the #OneLuckyGuy today and his belligerence was palpable, as if Ronny Jackson was on trial for his life but was not allowed to confront his accusers.
As usual, Marie Harf was the only person rooted in reality. She explained that many Republicans also felt quite queasy about Jackson's nomination. The Senators in charge of confirming him couldn't ignore 20 or so accusations including mishandling of opioid prescriptions. And if Jackson felt the charges were false, then he could have defended himself during his hearing but instead, he chose to withdraw his nomination.
He should still clear up the charges of mishandling opioids and on the job drunkenness if he wants to keep his current position as Trump's doctor. Sorry, lying about Trump's weight isn't enough to warrant keeping that job, Ronny.
If the Trump administration had done a cursory vetting job they might have asked the military staff that came forward to denounce him.
Why does the Fox Business Network hate our troops and veterans?
FBN's Dagen McDowell was the most bothered and blamed only the Democrats for his downfall.
Dagen ranted, "This is a message from Democrats to the Trump administration. anybody that you nominate, if you think about taking a job in this administration, we will wreck your life. we will wreck your life with very specific allegations from unnamed sources. the fact that -- the level of detail in these allegations where he wasn't -- he didn't get to face his accusers. This was spread around like garbage in the wind. it's a message to this administration that ...they don't want good people in this administration."
Good people? Really Dagen.
