Larry Klayman has quite a resumé replete with white supremacy, wingnut conspiracies and witch-hunting, and he's still going strong. Klayman sat with Alan Colmes on his weekly Versus segment to discuss the Trump/Judge Curiel controversy. Klayman is likely itching for a position in the Trump Administration as the more radical version of Alberto Gonzalez.
Alan is no stranger to sparring with this Freedom Watch founder. Less than two years ago, Klayman insisted that President Obama is just like the KKK because everything he does is motivated by helping Black people, exclusively. Part of the exchange went like this:
Colmes asked again, "Are you comparing Obama to the KKK?"
To which Klayman admitted, "I am. I am. He is as equally as bigoted as they are."
Now Klayman is assuming the role as Trump apologist, defending the indefensible drek he spews, almost hourly. Larry defended Trump's claim that Curiel is biased because of his heritage.
And that's perfectly acceptable, apparently, even if Curiel was born in Indiana because, La RAZA! Except not the national organization, an entirely different group based out of San Diego, California. Even Red State agrees that this label is utterly false:
The point is, no, Judge Curiel is not a member of or affiliated with the radical leftwing group that conservatives have come to know and hate, in spite of the surface level similarity of name.
Alan corrected his guest, but he gish galloped and moved on, just like Trump does.
Naturally, Klayman is a little bit more skilled than Healy, Trump's Valley Girl spokesperson, and phrases his statements with a little more legal finesse.
KLAYMAN: I think what Trump meant to say was that this judge is likely biased against him because of his stand on immigration and his stand on building the wall. He should have said it that way, it was not said the right way.
COLMES: ...But Donald Trump, who would like to be President of the United States is saying this guy should not adjudicate my case because of his Mexican heritage and also says I'm going to get my Attorney General to go after Hillary Clinton and use his presidency as a fiefdom, this is a somebody who doesn't seem to understand the judicial process of this country.
Klayman, who has tied Obama and Clinton together as an entity, denounces the U.S. Department of Justice as highly politicized. In an attempt to discredit the Federal Judicial Branch, he brought up Cliven Bundy, who is his client, as if this lends him more credibility. Bottom line, Klayman believes that the lack of impartiality among most judges (who can be influenced by their heritage) excuses any comments made by Donald Trump, who is immune to any real scrutiny, even when he doubles down on an offensive statement.
COLMES: You said he didn't say it right, if he can't articulate that properly should he even be president?
KLAYMAN: I think he needs a course in articulation, certainly Hillary Clinton needs the same thing.
By allocating the same gaffe-making quality to Hillary Clinton, Klayman paints this as a problem for BOTH SIDES! Nice try, Klayman. You may have earned yourself a job as AG, in an administration that hopefully never exists.
