North Carolina's Republican government deemed it necessary to protect its fringe right-wing voters from a problem that doesn't exist, so they created HB2. The bill 'protects' the god-fearing lunatics from non-existent transgender predators who might prey upon unsuspecting victims in bathrooms. Governor McCrory's asinine bill has negatively impacted his reelection campaign, and rightfully so, as there's been no incidents that would mandate such a bill.
Unfortunately, there is no shortage of conservative reactionaries who fear phantom, mythological, transgender bathroom perverts. Should we expect anything any less crazy from the wife of Mat Staver, Kim Davis' lawyer, than a tweet as unhinged as this? She too is an attorney. But if you look at her Twitter profile, first and foremost, she is a 'Christian.'
Anita Staver: 'I'm taking a Glock .45 to the ladies room' | @AlanColmes @AnitaStaver https://t.co/82EQ1RsvPJ pic.twitter.com/Q1fY40aMdk

On this week's Versus with Alan Colmes, Anita Staver shows us how utterly insane her worldview is. Simply look at her Twitter feed, and you'll see a hodgepodge of paranoid and gun-fetishist tweets that claim to be written by a follower of Jesus Christ. Her extravagantly extremist and shocking posts are designed to bring eyes to the hateful organizations she represents.
Alan points out to Miss Staver that the ladies' room affords very limited opportunities to snoop on an unsuspecting victim since there are stalls in bathrooms for women. Staver claims that the 'cracks' in between restroom stalls allow for ample opportunity for voyeurism. Colmes aptly points out that the danger from an accidental gun discharge is far more serious than the risks presented by a fictitious violator of the HB2 bill. Anita Staver is convinced this is a rampant problem that demands serious attention, and this is part of the conservative mental disorder that afflicts women like herself.
Mat Staver, Anita's husband, is infamous as the Liberty Counsel attorney who represented Kim Davis in her quest to remain unscathed by her dereliction of duties as Rowan County, KY. Clerk. She refused to grant same-sex couples marriage licenses based on her religious principles. The Liberty Counsel is part of the Southern Policy Law Center's list of extremist groups.
Davis appealed the ruling with the Supreme Court, which refused to hear her case. She was then found in contempt of court for failing to uphold her duties as an elected official.
The Liberty Counsel attracts other extremists who are very willing to use the threat of lethal force to defend their 'principles.'
The anti-government Oath Keepers, who were present at the Bundy Ranch standoff, have claimed they’re going to “protect” Davis from another arrest (Davis’s legal team declined their “help.”). Not all are on board with the battle, however. A panel of legal experts on Fox News slammed Staver, and one called a statement he made questioning whether the Supreme Court has Constitutional authority “ridiculously stupid.”
Too stupid for Fox 'News?' Yikes.
Any doubts that the Liberty Counsel and its satellite groups are extremist can be erased by looking at this list of their causes célebrès.
Like their deplorable hate-mongering cousins at the Family Research Council, they are making grotesque sums of money preaching intolerance, homophobia and now violent retribution against other children of God. I'm sure Jesus would weep at their perverted sense of right and wrong. The world's most famous peacenik would certainly cringe at the mention of a Glock .45 to remedy any problem, much less a fictional one.
