The GOP lineup for president continues to grow and I say - the more the merrier.
Former New York Gov. George Pataki says he will announce whether or not he will pursue a presidential run on May 28.
In an appearance on MSNBC's Morning Joe, Pataki, a Republican, named the date of the announcement and dismissed the notion that he is too moderate to win a GOP primary election.
"I have no doubt that when I lay my ideas out there and go through my background and what I've been able to do, people are going to say 'this is a guy who could lead our country,'" he said.
Pataki served three terms as the governor of New York, ending in 2007. He has touted his dedication to smaller government and tax cuts as qualifications for a potential presidential run.
He would be considered an extreme longshot for the GOP nomination. He has low name recognition nationally and has barely registered in public polls. A new FOX News poll shows him with less than one percent support among GOP primary voters.
Hey, he's for small government and tax cuts. Now that's true innovation.
