Embattled Gov. Chris Christie appeared with Megyn Kelly on Fox News Friday evening to discuss the findings of his own million-dollar personal review of the Bridgegate scandal. It's a report that doesn't even include interviews with any of the main people we know were deeply involved in the lane closing scandal. Never has there been a more self-serving investigation in recent times for a politician mired in a scandal that could end their political career. Megyn Kelly plays the perfect foil for him as she opened up the interview with this question.
Kelly: An initial report has now cleared him of any wrongdoing. Earlier today in a state house in Trenton new jersey, I sat down with Christie for a cable exclusive on what's passed and what lies ahead.
No mention that the initial report was initiated and investigated by lawyers that are joined at Christie's very big hip.
Kelly: So this report has just come out, it exonerates you completely. Do you feel exonerated?
Christie: Yea, I do, but I also always knew that this is where it would end because I knew from the beginning I didn't have anything to do with this I didn't have anything to do with this and didn't know anything about it.
....and ultimately I'm responsible for people on my watch.
Listen, I can't tell you for sure he's guilty, (it's highly probable though) but the idea that he feels he's been vindicated by a report he paid for which was done by allies of his without getting all the facts is a bloody joke.
Kelly: An you know your critics already have come out. They've said that this cost a million of taxpayers money, it was conducted by a law firm which you have several friends. The chief investigator is a Giuliani guy and Giuliani has been one fof your most vocal defenders on Bridgegate. So why should the people trust this report?
Christie: Randy Mastro, he worked for Rudy, he's a registered Democrat and after seven years Megyn, as US attorney in New Jersey and five years now as governor, there's not a law firm in this area that I don't have some relationships with, so in the end let the work speak for itself.
See he knows everybody. There's not a law firm or lawyer he doesn't know really, really well in New Jersey so what could he do? Oh, and he didn't know David Wildstein at all, he just gave him a 150K job just-because. He could have hired a firm outside of New Jersey that he doesn't have close ties with for a start. And the work is incomplete. It's an unfinished document that only tells part of the story so if he's relying on that work to hang his hat on then it speaks very poorly for Gov. Christie.
Megyn asked him if he'll change his bullying ways and he said no of course because "I'm a really passionate guy and I'm very direct."
No, you're a bully and a loud mouth who's not afraid to be a misogynist when it suits him.
