News 3 has confirmed that three people are dead following a shooting near Fidelity Street in College Station earlier today.
The College Station Police Department has confirmed that Brian Bachmann, Constable Precinct 1 Brazos County, has died. Police also say a male civilian was killed, and the suspect in the shooting has died.
CSPD reports that another officer was shot in the leg and is listed in stable condition. A female civilian is currently in surgery at St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan. Police say two other officers received non-life threatening injuries.
Ho hum! Another week, another mass shooting with automatic weapons! Soon they'll hold a candlelight vigil, politicians will say a few solemn words and then it'll be business as usual. Seriously, WTF is wrong with this country?
The Bryan-College Station Eagle, reports that one officer has been killed, but police have not confirmed that information.
KCEN reports that six people have been shot, but again, police will not confirm that number.
However, Jon Agnew, the public information officer for the Bryan-College Station Police Department, did confirm that two officers and one civilian have been injured.
College Station Medical Center is treating five victims. Of the five victims, three have gunshot wounds.
The public information officer with St. Joseph Regional Health Center said the hospital has one female victim; her condition is unknown.
Police also said that the area, which is just blocks from campus and near Kyle Field, the football stadium, has been secured.
