John McCain isn't selling his soul for political gain -- he's driving down its price so he can make a fortune in default swaps on the backend.

The Daily Show does something quite clever here. Instead of just taking the many, many instances that openly contradict McCain's ridiculous statement that he doesn't consider himself a "maverick" (despite the decades of self-promotion as such) they reduce McCain's pandering to the absurdity it is. McCain just happens to have a serious Teabagger threat this year in J.D. Hayworth to contend with, so is tacking hard right and jettisoning his own trademark.

Entitlement is all John McCain is about these days, and he will say and do whatever it takes to keep his senate seat. A hollow thing that says "mine".
