You might recognize him as the composer for the scores of Babel and Brokeback Mountain, but most of Gustavo Santaolalla's work lies within the realm of solo efforts or past bands. We also did a music club a little over a month ago on his past band, Arco Iris. This composition, however, comes from his solo career. "Iguazu" was released on his album, Ronroco, a collection of pieces played on the charango, a Bolivian lute. If you liked this piece, or even just the sound of the charango, then you should definitely check out the rest of this album (and peruse his catalog while you're at it).
