My eldest, after two years of groaning through piano lessons, has asked me to please please please let her take up the guitar. I suspect the coolness factor of learning to play Ode to Joy and the Minuet in G is significantly lower than learning how to play guitar. Every once in a while, I've caught her on YouTube watching those "How to play [song] on the guitar" videos, slowly manipulating her fingers into learning the chords.
It was she who introduced me to the John Butler Trio, and even as someone without even a scintilla of musical talent, I could see a guitar master here.
Who knows? Maybe you'll see my kid on YouTube playing her heart out like this.
