These guys employ a lot of interesting techniques in their playing and composition. A lot of times, they will reverse roles, with the bass playing a counter melody to the piano's bassline. Because of details like these, it's hard to pinpoint these guys to just one genre. They will effortlessly bounce back and forth between psychedelic, electronic sections and classically-inspired sequences featuring bowed bass and contrapuntal harmonies whilst still maintaining a jazzy feel. It was truly a great group and is a must-listen for any jazz lover nowadays. Sadly, Svensson lost his life at the age of 44 after sustaining serious injuries while on a scuba diving session in 2008. Although he is no longer with us, we are fortunate in that he has left us with many powerful, emotional pieces of music like this one.
