I'm sure by now, most of the readers here have already heard about the recent leaks on the NSA and their datamining program -- which raises all kinds of legitimate questions about just what oversight, if any, is in place to protect citizens from having this information abused -- but here's what happens over at Fox, where they decide to just conflate this story with the rest of the scandal mongering they've been doing on that network for months on end now.
They allowed one of their favorite Fox "liberals" to join a panel where host Neil Cavuto and his other guests were trying to tie this NSA story into a bigger narrative that you just can't trust that evil "big government" because of Benghazi, or the IRS, or the DOJ and Eric Holder, and things got a little testy when Julian Epstein went off script and actually told Cavuto that he's not having a serious discussion about any of these issues when he tries to lump them all together.
Cavuto responded by basically pulling a Bill-O: Fox News Cuts The Mic Of A Liberal Who Tells The Truth About the Obama Scandals:
What happens when a liberal tries to discuss the facts of the Obama scandals on Fox News? He gets his mic cut off.
Watch what happened to Julian Epstein when he insisted on having a discussion centered around the facts of the Obama scandals with Fox exec Neil Cavuto. [...]
That liberal thing that Cavuto was accusing Epstein of doing is called using facts. Fox News has no interest in the facts relating to these “Obama scandals.” Anyone who persistently tries to inject facts into the Obama scandal fantasy will be shouted down, and have their mic cut off. That’s just how they do it over at fair and balanced Fox News.
Since these scandals have puttered out due to a lack of evidence, Cavuto was trying to create something that was greater than the sum of its weak parts by trying to tie all of the conspiracies into a pattern of behavior. It should be noted that Cavuto isn’t just a host. He is also a Fox News executive. Apparently, the executive policy of Fox News is to cut the mics of people who try to use facts in their conversations.
They've got the transcript posted for anyone that either can't or doesn't want to watch the clip. It's really disgusting watching the pundits over at Fox do their best to make sure the lemmings who continue to take their propaganda network seriously remain as confused as humanly possible on what should actually be considered a "scandal" and what's a bunch of drummed up bullshit from people who would be more than happy to see President Obama impeached.
