Tonight it's one of the unjustly neglected bands of the 1960's. Family were together from 1966 until their final departure in 1973. Between those years they released a number of remarkable albums, were a favorite on the concert and festival circuit and barely known in the U.S.
The reason for much of the neglect probably had to with their lead singer. Roger Chapman had one of the most unique voices in Rock. As a listener you either loved it or hated it - there was very little in-between.
Tonight's it's a sampling of three sessions the band did early on for the BBC and the John Peel Program:
1. See Through Windows - Rec: April 16, 1968
2. Observations From A Hill - Rec: November 11, 1968
3. The Breeze - Rec: November 20, 1967
You may be familiar with them. I've posted tracks by Family before. You may not be familiar with them and this is your first time. Now's your chance to find out.
