Live and direct tonight from Paris at the Salle Pleyel, a concert with Orchestre de Paris conducted by Paavo Jarvi and featuring a return engagement by Canadian keyboard whiz Jan Lisiecki in music of Berlioz, Chopin and Beethoven.
The concert was recorded live earlier today (September 14th) by Radio France Musique and features a lot of familiar, if not potboiler, material. Berlioz: Le Corsair Overture followed by the Chopin First Piano concerto (and several encores) and ending up with the ever-popular 5th Symphony of Beethoven.
Classical music for people who may be getting their feet wet with classical music, put together by a great little band and a soloist on the rise. Can't ask for better.
The concert is broken up between two players - the top player features the Berlioz and Chopin (and encores) and the bottom player features the Beethoven all to itself.
