The Speech of the Year has to go to President Joe Biden, when he flipped the script on the Republican Party during the 2023 State of the Union address.
A CNN flash poll showed that 72% approved of the president's State Of The Union speech -- including 43% of Republicans.
Biden touted the 500,000+ jobs he created in January, and lowest unemployment since before we walked on the Moon. He called for guaranteed abortion rights nationally and a ban on all assault weapons. But it's how he did it that was even better.
The best part by far was when Biden delivered a master class on political rhetoric by turning Marjorie Taylor Greene's attack back on her and her colleagues, then calmly mocking them about their "conversion" on Social Security and how happy he was that they were now together on same "Don't Mess With Social Security" team.
