Donald Trump posted a bonkers "truth" on his vanity Truth Social network while in the courtroom attacking the law clerk of the judge presiding over his ongoing fraud trial. It seems crazy to do such a thing at any point in any trial, much less one that could result in $250 million in damages. But it speaks loud and clear about the deranged state of Trump’s mind.
As CNN reporter Brynn Gingras explained, Trump posted on his social media platform a picture of New York Justice Arthur Engoron and his clerk in a photo with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, claiming that the clerk is his girlfriend. There is no such known relationship between the two but even if there were, it's crazy to do what Trump did.
The judge ordered Trump to delete the post and issued a warning: “Personal attacks of any member of my court staff are unacceptable, inappropriate, and I will not tolerate that,” Gingras reported. Also, the judge ordered that no one speak publicly about any member of his staff or else face serious sanctions. “He said he had warned about anything like this prior to this trial starting. And here he is again, warning again,” she said.
The New York Times reported, “Justice Engoron said that his statement should be considered a gag order forbidding any posts, emails or public remarks about members of his staff. He added that serious sanctions would follow were he to be disobeyed, but did not elaborate.”
Trump is already facing 91 felony charges. It would be such poetic justice if he went to jail first because he couldn’t keep his damn trap shut.
