I'm so glad RNC Chair Ronna Don't-Call-Me-Romney McDaniel could find a bright side to the tragic events in Israel this weekend. Nothing like saying the quiet part out loud if you're a craven political opportunist.
McDaniel made an appearance on Fox News Live this Saturday and was asked about some of the responses made by the Republican candidates running for president following Hamas attacking Israel.
McDaniel was quick to blame Biden for the attack, and to spread the same lie we've been hearing from some of the GOP candidates, liars on Fox, and Trump, that somehow the $6 billion in released assets for Iran is responsible for this attack. Never mind that none of it has even been spent yet.
That won't stop them from using this to attack Biden, pretend that Republicans are better on foreign policy than Democrats (which they aren't) and to gloat that this is some game changer for Republicans in the upcoming presidential election, despite the fact that they've got a leading candidate that's both a criminal, and insane, as McDaniel did here.
Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel appeared on Fox News on Saturday, telling the network about what Republicans need to do to contrast themselves with Democrats following Hamas attacking Israel.
“I think this is a great opportunity for our candidates to contrast where Republicans have stood with Israel, time and time again, and Joe Biden has been weak,” McDaniel said. “And when America is weak, the world is less safe. We’re seeing this not just with the war in Ukraine and with an emboldened China, but now with an attack on Israel.”
McDaniel connected the attacks on Israel with President Biden announcing last month that $6 billion of Iran’s assets would be unfrozen as part of a prisoner exchange. According to Biden administration officials, none of the money has left the bank account that it’s in, meaning it would not have been able to directly fund these attacks.

“This is what he did, that was his priority. And now we are seeing the biggest funder of Hamas, Iran, getting money from the United States of America,” McDaniel said. “And I don’t think it’s a coincidence, I don’t think we have to go too far to connect the dots, that now Hamas has attacked Israel.”
I'm personally a lot more interested in whether Benjamin Netanyahu compromised Israeli intelligence with his power grab that PBS reported on back in March and what kind of damage has been done to their government that he's put in turmoil since then.
I'd also love to know whether concerns by the Israeli defense establishment and the IDF Intelligence Corps and the Mossad espionage agency are justified that documents Trump allowed to be exposed damaged Israel’s security.
Don't expect any answers to either of those questions from McDaniel or her fellow propagandists on Fox, or sadly from most of our corporate media that is just ambulance chasing this story for the most part.
They all need to be kicking Republicans in the teeth for the $6B in aid lie causing this attack. It's an easy one to rebut, and thankfully, I did hear even the likes of Andrea Mitchell pushing back on it, so maybe there's hope that lie doesn't stand with most of the press.
When, if ever, any of them start looking at what sort of damage both Bibi and Trump may have done to cause any of this is another story. I'm not holding my breath for any fact checking or accountability given the state of our corporate media today.
