My friend West Palm Wendy texted me from her walk-in closet Saturday. "I'm sitting in here because there's a tornado warning," she wrote.

By the time I called her, the threat has passed, hitting Palm Beach Gardens instead. (Although her power was out from the storm.) We continued our perpetual conversation about how everyone else is paying for the Republican voters who kept us from doing anything to mitigate climate change. (They still are.) Via the Associated Press:

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — A tornado touched down in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, on Saturday as a powerful storm system brought intense rain and powerful winds to the state, overturning cars, damaging homes and snapping tree branches.

The National Weather Service in Miami said the tornado hit late Saturday afternoon with winds of 100 mph (160 kph) near Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center and headed northeast toward the coast.

Storm damage forced authorities in the coastal city to close major roadways in the city as workers cleared debris and inspected wreckage. Images from the scene showed cars flipped over on top of each other, cracked tree limbs resting on vehicles and homes, as well as other debris littering streets.

The same storm produced another tornado that caused extensive damage in Virginia Beach.

Wendy was also furious about the new law that's waiting for Rhonda Santis's signature, making all his travel expenditures and whereabouts a Big Secret from anyone who isn't Rhonda Santis. (Nothing like running for president on the taxpayer dime!) But since Florida's Sunshine Law is written into the state constitution, she's hoping it will be overturned.

By the judges. Appointed by Rhonda Santis.
