On Fox News' Ingraham Angle Thursday night, Speaker McCarthy bizarrely blamed POLITICS for losing AN ELECTION. We are not making that up.
The stupidest House Speaker in US history attacked Democrats for winning the special Wisconsin Supreme Court election by campaigning on issues important to voters.
Huh?
Fox News host Laura Ingraham took a page from a WSJ article that said "Progressives had a banner day in the Midwest Tuesday, and this is a five-alarm warning for Republicans for 2024," to question what McCarthy will do in the future.
"Voter enthusiasm, it's obviously very important going into this election cycle," she said.
Ingraham mentioned while Republicans took back the House in 2022, it was an underwhelming midterm election.
"This Wisconsin Supreme Court election was a big loss this week. In fact, the map shows it further moving to the left since 2020, the state of Wisconsin," Ingraham said.
"Is that concerning? And what is the GOP doing to counter what is a very aggressive move by the Democrats to brand the Republican Party as anti-democracy, anti-women, etc.?" she asked.
Speaker McCarthy was bereft of ideas (yeah really) so instead of answering her question, he claimed Democrats cheated in Wisconsin because they played politics with a hugely important seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
"You know, this is very scary from a number of positions, " McCarthy whined. "Because here they were campaigning for a position of a state Supreme Court, actually using politics."
(Republican dark money exploded in support of Dan Kelly, yet he got trounced by Janet Protasiewicz.)
"Claiming not based upon what cases come before you, but actually predetermining it, talking about redistricting, talking about women's rights going forward instead of looking at a case by case and saying, I'm going to uphold the Constitution."
McCarthy has developed a very annoying whine when he tries to make a point.
And he had no point to make.
Republicans claimed The End Times were upon us if Kelly didn't win.
Maybe it's the end times for their political party. Huh.
