Mr. James is a retired custodian for Callisburg High School. Sadly, due to the increased cost of living and the greed of corporations, Mr. James had to come out of retirement at the age of 80 years young. Some of the students caught wind of why Mr. James was working again, and set about to fix it. They made a short Tik Tok video and set up a GoFundMe account with the goal of raising $10,000. They met that goal within hours. When they closed the account on February 24, the had received 8,600 donations and raised more than $270,000 for Mr. James.

These kids are more than just alright. I have more respect than I do for most adults, especially the elected officials in Texas and in Washington, DC..

There is no way in hell that this situation should have been allowed to happen in the first place. That an 80 year old person has to go back to work just to survive is inexcusable.

And despite what those smarmy corporate media anchors had to say, it's not anything new. For decades, there have been more and more elderly people going back to work when they should be enjoying their golden years. We are failing as a nation if we can dole out billions in corporate welfare but won't lift a finger to help our own elderly.

These kids get it. Why can't we adults?
