Amidst the madness of the Speaker's vote, Rep. Katie Porter took time to catch up on her reading. And it's probably not because Porter was indifferent to the results, it's just that she is looking ahead for when she doesn't have to put up with this lunacy of a Republican-led House of Representatives, not led by SINO Kevin McCarthy but the knuckle-draggers in that party who want to burn the place down. Katie Porter wants to be in the somewhat saner U.S. Senate.

Meanwhile, Democrats hung together on ballot after ballot, united and forcing Republicans to find the votes on their own to get McCarthy over the top. They passed the time during the lengthy votes in different ways — Rep. Katie Porter (D-Calif.) was spotted reading “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck” on the floor.
And what of her Senate run? Also via Politico:
Rep. Katie Porter is weighing a campaign launch for Sen. Dianne Feinstein‘s seat — potentially even before her veteran Democratic colleague announces her plans for 2024.
Fresh off a bruising battleground reelection win, the third-term Porter is now considering a bid for what is likely to be an open Senate seat in deep-blue California as a next step, according to five Democrats familiar with her plans. Feinstein is widely expected to retire after her current term, but she isn’t making any firm moves yet ahead of what’s expected to be an official announcement within the next couple of months.
This is known in politics as a "putting out a feeler." Katie Porter is getting it out there that she's interested and wants to get a lay of the land before she commits. And given last night's antics in Crazytown can anyone blame her?
And a word from Rep. Porter herself on last night's fiasco.
