Rep. Hakeem Jeffries is not messing around. The Democratic House Minority Leader referred to the newly created "Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government" as a "Select Committee on Insurrection Protection." The new committee is chaired by Rep. Gym Shorts Jordan (R-OH), so you know it's not serious.
He called out Republicans for doing absolutely nothing to combat inflation. Republicans have Instead protected the wealthy and attacked women's reproductive rights. You knew that all of their campaign vows to create jobs, and fight against inflation was bullshit.
"My Republican colleagues, you promised to come to Washington to fight for the American people, but have spent a lot of time fighting each other," he said.

Mr. Jordan, who was deeply involved in Mr. Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election, has for months been investigating what he says is a bias in federal law enforcement against conservatives. Now that Republicans have the majority, he plans to use his gavel and his subpoena power to escalate and expand that inquiry, including searching for evidence that federal workers have become politicized and demanding documents about ongoing criminal investigations.
Jordan shouldn't even be on that committee.
