An Arizona judge ruled in favor of Maricopa County and awarded sanctions against Kari Lake and her legal team for making false, misleading, and unsupported factual assertions in a lawsuit after her election loss.
“It is to make clear that the Court,” Judge Tuchi wrote. “Will not condone litigants ignoring the steps that Arizona has already taken toward [elections] and furthering false narratives that baselessly undermine public trust at a time of increasing disinformation about, and distrust in, the democratic process. It is to send a message to those who might file similarly baseless suits in the future.”
Election denier Mark Finchem was also named by the judge and must fork over restitution.
Alan Dershowitz, who has soiled his name and reputation after he jumped on the crazy Trump train, was Lake's lead attorney in the matter and could be sanctioned as well.
