You would think, at some point, that conservatives would figure out that God doesn't really want them to run for office, nor that God did not promise them a win. That their own rigid egos equate their own grandiose desires with God's will! Ha, ha!
(God: Come on, Doug, I was just kidding!)
But Doug Mastriano, the Pennsylvania state senator who was also entangled in the plot to hand Trump the election, was running for governor of the state. Even the remaining sane Republicans wouldn't vote for him, having enough sense to see that electing a Christian Nationalist QAnon nut would not be a good brand for what remains of their party. (Yes, he was part of the Jan. 6th mob.)
He lost to Democrat Josh Shapiro by a landslide -- 14 points. God wanted to make it clear, I guess.
Mastriano believes life begins at conception, doesn't believe in climate change, and wants to cut public education funding in half. He is fond of Confederate uniforms, Oath Keepers, and right-wing prophets like Julie Green.
He was a Really Big Fail and that's why he deserves a 2022 Crookie.
