Postmaster General Louis DeJoy needs to grow a pointy handlebar mustache that he can twirl to complete his look of being an evil, morally bankrupt person. Instead of making the Post Office more effective, DeJoy appeared to be doing Trump's bidding by slowing the service down, and he unveiled a plan to slash Post Office hours.
Since taking office, DeJoy executed sweeping changes that led to delays in mail delivery – and that led to fears that mail-in ballots would not arrive on time. Everything DeJoy has done appears to have benefited Donald Trump while he was in office.
A mail carrier spoke to The Guardian.
"The supervisors are cracking the whip, making sure we leave," Mark told the outlet. "Meanwhile carriers are walking by and saying, 'Look at all this fucking mail we're walking past, it's just sitting there.'"
Everything DeJoy did seemed intentional.
The Postmaster General is not a Cabinet position. It's a position selected by the Board of Governors of the Postal Service, whose members are appointed by the president with the advice and consent of the Senate. DeJoy was a major Trump donor, and he is still serving as Postmaster General. DeJoy can only be fired by a majority of the USPS board.
Despite calls for his resignation, he has said that he has no intention of leaving.
DeJoy took his position in June 2020 despite having no previous Postal Service experience. President Joe Biden does not have the authority to fire the postmaster general, but he has been taking the necessary steps.
It's only a matter of time before we're rid of that partisan hack that isn't really serving the Post Office. Instead, he's making changes to slow it down permanently.
For all of that, DeJoy has earned a bad guy Crookie Award. Congrats, dude, on being a truly shitty human being. We would mail him the award, but it would take weeks to get there.
