Florida Governor Ron DeSantis released a new campaign ad suggesting God sent him to govern and that he was a fighter. DeSantis's wife, Casey, tweeted out the video that invokes God's name 10 times in just a 96-second timeframe. The cringe-inducing ad, without mentioning DeSantis's name, suggests that the Republican governor is a fighter and a protector. Sure thing, buddy.
Watch:
DeSantis is the opposite of a fighter.
-DeSantis did not protect Floridians when the pandemic hit. He was trying to get kudos from science-denying fringe conservatives.
-DeSantis targeted the LGBTQ+ community.
-DeSantis signed an executive order that eases voting rules in Republican-leaning counties but not in Democratic counties.
-DeSantis tried to muzzle his opponents with the "Stop WOKE" act.
-DeSantis signed a controversial bill that critics said would drastically limit race education in schools. Conservatives have targeted critical Race Theory to promote fear of learning from our history.
DeSantis isn't a fighter. He is just using God's name to garner the old white vote. I'm sure you have that already, Ronald.
A fighter would be a governor who protects all of us, not just the old white folks that likely have a splash of racism in their character so that buzzwords like Critical Race Theory will send them dashing to the polls on election day.
A fighter wouldn't try to isolate LGBTQ people with a 'Don't Say Gay' bill. Hey, Ronald: Gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay.
PS: Gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay.
Oh, and also: Gay.
