On this day, March 8th, in 1994, Soundgarden released their 4th album Superunknown. Two of the singles from the record: "Spoonman" and "Black Hole Sun" won the band Grammy awards help rocket the band into the mainstream.

Superunknown has been certified five times platinum by the RIAA in the United States. It was Soundgarden's most successful album.
