For the second time in two years, Sarah Palin's son Track has been arrested on charges of domestic violence.
According to Anchorage Daily News, Sarah Palin called the police, telling them that Track "was freaking out and was on some kind of medication."
Track apparently wanted to come pick up a truck, but Todd Palin had told him not to come because he had been drinking and taking pain medication, according to the report.
When Track arrived, Todd met his son at the door with a gun to protect the rest of the family inside, causing Track to break a window, get inside and start beating his father.
Todd somehow got away, and police saw two vehicles leave the house. One had Todd Palin, the other was driven by Sarah Palin. Track was left alone in the house.
A standoff ensued. Wasilla officer Adam LaPointe wrote in his police report that "Track stood on the porch. Communication was attempted which failed due to Track yelling and calling myself and other officers peasants and telling us to lay our guns on the ground before approaching the residence."
After Track went back inside the house, police observed him moving around in a strange manner before taking a position behind the roofline to try and locate other officers, as if he was a sniper.
After several minutes of that, they were able to talk Track out of the house and take him into custody.
"Track stated he then went through the broken window and disarmed Todd and put him on the ground," LaPointe's affidavit says. "While Track had Todd on the ground he started hitting Todd in the head. Todd was able to get away from Track and get out of the residence."
I wouldn't wish a situation like this on anyone, not even Sarah Palin. Clearly this young man has a drug and alcohol problem warranting a serious intervention, particularly with guns involved. It's a miracle no one was shot.
