White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told the press today that the Paul Manafort indictment had nothing to do with Trump, his administration or his campaign and fingered the real culprit as Hillary.

I was waiting for Sanders to chant "Lock her up," during the press briefing.

After today's indictment of Paul Manafort, Rick Gates and the plea deal bargained by Trump advisor George Papadopoulos, Trump's press secretary was asked about the news.

CNN's Jeff Zeleny asked what he White House's response was to this news and if Trump would be firing special council Bob Mueller.

Sanders said as of now, Trump would not be making any changes to the special counsel and then she began her subterfuge and lies.

Sanders said, "Look, today's announcement has nothing to do with the president. Has nothing to do with the president's campaign or campaign activity."

She continued, "The real collusion scandal as we've said several times has everything to do with the Clinton campaign, Fusion GPS and Russia. There's clear evidence of them colluding with Russian intelligence to spread disinformation and smear the president, to influence the election. We have been saying from day one there is no evidence of Trump-Russia collusion and nothing in the indictment of today changes that at all."

Yeah, having Trump's former campaign chairman indicted as a foreign agent while still actively committing a massive fraud while leading Trump's campaign is not at all interesting.

Hiring a firm to collect opposition research is not a crime, nor is it evidence of colluding with a foreign government - at all - period. Stop.

After Zeleny brought up the Papadopoulos charges, she fired back, "It has nothing to do with the activities of the campaign, it has to do with his failure to tell the truth, that doesn't have anything to do with the campaign."

You mean lying to the feds while being an advisor to the president, as a volunteer or not is supposed to be a moot point, Sarah?

Another reporter said, "But it is the clearest evidence yet of ties between the Trump campaign and Russian officials."

Deny, deny, deny, Sarah.

"Again, there are no activities or official capacity in which the Trump campaign was engaged in any of these activities. Most of them took place well before the campaign ever even existed."

If the feds frogmarched Jared Kushner and Don Jr., for colluding with the Russians, the White House would still be blaming Fusion GPS and Hillary.

Let's not forget Paul Manafort was part of Trump's campaign longer than Kellyanne Conway or Steve Bannon.

And let's not forget also that the Trump campaign weakened the Ukraine plank at the RNC convention.
