The White House press secretary told the press today that Donald Trump refuses to call the Las Vegas massacre an act of "domestic terrorism" because they don't have all the facts yet.
Huh?
After a terrorist attack, either home or abroad, Trump is usually the quickest person on the planet to tweet out his thoughts, regardless if he has all the facts or if he's leaking classified intelligence to attack "radical Islam" or to criticize the way a foreign government has handled their own tragedy.
At this point, there is no hint of foreign or religious influences that helped flip sixty-four year old Stephen Paddock into the greatest mass murderer of our time.
A reporter asked, "Does the president believe that what happened amounts to an act of domestic terrorism?"
Sanders replied, "Again, we're still in a fact finding mission. This is an ongoing investigation and it would be premature to weigh in on something like that before we have any more facts..."
Not long ago, Trump angered the UK's Prime Minister over tweeting this:
Theresa May responded in kind: “I never think it’s helpful for anybody to speculate on what is an ongoing investigation, " May said.
And she even trashed him even on American television to boot.
Trump has no issue pissing off one of our most important allies immediately after they suffered a devastating blow so why is he so hesitant to classify Paddock's attack as "domestic terrorism?
That's the classification our own DHS uses.
I wonder, just off the top of my head if his white supremacist base would regard that classification as unflattering?
They flipped out back in 2009, when DHS released their findings.
Lou Dobbs even conducted his own poll to see if his audience viewed him as a right wing extremist.
It couldn't have anything to do with the idea that Paddock is white, could it? Would the hesitance have been the same if the shooter had been black, or Muslim, or Mexican?
