NRA booster and frequent Fox News contributor Kevin Jackson is one of Donald Trump's few African American True Believers. After Monday night's debate, he went on Alan Colmes' Versus to do damage control and pretend everything is just peachy keen with the candidate he sees through orange-colored glasses.
Jackson describes himself as the self-appointed “Offender of the Left” sworn to set the record straight on the destruction by Democrats to the black community. Why is he against the party that has been the only party advocating for Black people from the start? He gets to appear on Fox News, Glenn Beck and other right wing outlets.
Colmes begins with an attempt to extract some truth from his guest.
ALAN COLMES: We can both agree Hillary Clinton KILLED Trump in that debate on Monday night, right Kevin'
KEVIN JACKSON: That depends on what your definition of IS is.
.
That was just the first of many evasive responses. Colmes pressed on.
COLMES: Did Trump make anymore fans in this debate?
Jackson replied that he thinks he did, but couldn't be specific, much like his candidate. He asserted that the whole birther thing was Hillary Clinton's fault and all along, it was Hillary making it about race, Colmes was puzzled by this blatant fallacy.
COLMES: You as a Black American are saying you don't believe this was about race.
JACKSON: Of course it wasn't.. When McCain was questioned about race because he was born in Panama.
COLMES: For six years Trump has done this, even after Obama produced a second birth certificate...Now all of a sudden he accepts it? Can you explain that?
He dodged that question too, just like every other pundit who defends the Orange Overlord.
JACKSON: The bigger issue is that it is Hillary Clinton created (this). Hillary Clinton...like most Democrats wanted to push it off on the White guy.
Do you want me to say that Black people should be offended because people were questioning Barack Obama's birth certificate?
COLMES: But most Black people are, maybe you're different. But most African-Americans see this as racist.
That touched a nerve and incensed Jackson.
JACKSON: You can't speak on behalf of Black people...how can you do that?
COLMES: I'm telling you what most AA are saying.
That logic only works for Trump, others are not allowed to use it, no matter how factual it is.
JACKSON: I live in the hood, you do not.
On his own site, he does proclaim his success and his remarkable journey through poverty to wealth, but I guess he still lives in the 'hood?'
COLMES: Do Most African-Americans support Donald Trump?
JACKSON: Most vote Democrat, doesn't mean they support Hillary Clinton.
Jackson challenges Colmes to a wager, no amount was stated.
JACKSON: I bet you that Hillary won't get 80% of the Obama vote.
Unwilling to wager just yet, Alan moved on, knowing the polls are so wildly unpredictable. He tried to get Kevin to answer a question about why he supports Trump, not why he opposes Hillary. Like any Trump apologist, he changed the subject.
Alan inquired as to why he'd support the guy who had DOJ filings against him for housing discrimination and didn't want Blacks on the floor of his casino? Naturally, that is completely disregarded and The Blacksphere founder pivoted exactly like all the Trump supporters must when they don't want to answer a question.
K JACKSON: Let me ask you a question?
As per usual, he asks a question was regarding Hillary's support of Sen.Robert Byrd, which she gave ONLY after he renounced his racist past.
ALAN COLMES: What about a guy who keeps retweeting White Supremacists, and embraces their support and made believe he didn't know who David Duke was
JACKSON: Who cares who David Duke was?
I'm pretty sure that many folks in Louisiana who are not big fans of the Ku Klux Klan care quite a bit.
ALAN COLMES: But he lied about it, of course he knows who David Duke was.
Jackson returns to excoriating Hillary Clinton based on his false assumptions that history didn't happen and pretended that Robert Byrd never worked as a liberal who fought against his KKK past for the last decades of his life. But that is provable history and like Trump supporters of all walks of life, facts and history are not terribly important to Kevin Jackson. When your candidate eschews such realities, you must do the same.
