So far the star of the first night of the 2016 DNC Convention in Philly is comedian Sarah Silverman.
As a Bernie supporter, Sarah Silverman said she "felt the Bern" and had a powerful message about the inspiration Sanders brought to her and millions of others, And how inspiring it was to see how much that message influenced the Democratic party.
It was democracy in action.
And then she pivoted and said, "how proud" she was to vote for Hillary Clinton. She made it clear that for the Bernie movement to continue, Hillary Clinton must be elected as the next president.
She preached party unity and also after had a few words to the Bernie or Bust people after she was chanting "Unity"
"For the Bernie, can I just say, for Bernie or Bust people, "you're being ridiculous!"
The crowd went wild and Al Franken said, "Listen to that, listen to what you did. This is a comedian."
MSNBC's Republican analyst Nicolle Wallace said quickly afterwards that it was the greatest political speech she ever heard from a celebrity in her life.
