GOP frontrunner Donald Trump doubled down on his accusation that Hillary Clinton is "playing the women's card" on this weekend's Fox News Sunday. Trump defended his sexist remarks about Clinton and told host Chris Wallace that he is the one that came up with this line of attack, which, as Wallace pointed out, is backfiring on him badly.
Trump doesn't need any stinking campaign strategists. The women are going to love him eventually. You just wait!
Trump Defends His Woman's Card Attack Against Clinton: 'I'm My Own Strategist':
Fox News host Chris Wallace shared with Trump a poll that showed 75 percent of women thought he was unfavorable. Wallace continued, and noted that Trump said Clinton was playing the "woman's card" in her campaign.
"Now, I have to tell you strategists in both parties say if you consciously went about it, if you specifically planned you couldn't have said anything that would drive your numbers among women even lower," Wallace said.
"Really? OK," Trump replied. "Well, I'm my own strategist and I like that — what I said and it's true. I only tell the truth and that's why people voted for me."
Earlier in the interview, Wallace shared with Trump a poll that showed 81 percent of Hispanic voters had an unfavorable view toward him.
"I don't have to tell you, you cannot win in November with those numbers," Wallace told The Donald.
Trump responded and said that the numbers would go "way up once I start going."
