Fox News' Shep Smith outlined Trump's sweep yesterday and explained how he won the battle for the narrative, so to speak in media coverage.
Smith said, "After the big wins last night, Trump owned the narrative until Ted Cruz stepped to the microphone this morning in Indiana and said, 'we should expect a big announcement today' 4 PM EST.' So what is it?"
As has been reported all day long, Ted Cruz will announce Carly Fiorina as his Vice President choice if he wins the nomination.
I'd say picking Carly Fiorina as an "imaginary VP" is rather delusional and I can't wait to see what Samantha Bee does with this on Monday.
Many pundits wonder if Fiorina could help Cruz in the June, California primary, but Smith had other ideas why Cruz made this move.
"You don't announce vice presidents in April, unless you need to win the day. Win everyday until the last stand in Indiana. And with a win and a push for a split in California, followed by wrangling of those Pennsylvania delegates and others from the unbound category and a hoped for, contested convention filled with multiple ballots and chaos."
"That's the not Trump path now. It's overgrown, it's narrow it's difficult to travel and that path may be a dead end, but it is the only path left."
That about says it all for Ted Cruz.
