I think we've all seen incredibly ridiculous panders by politicians trying to get elected, but I doubt I've seen one as pretentious and self serving as the one I saw John Kasich make while visiting the Bronx, New York.

Kasich said this to some reporters, "People say, if you're going to win, who's going to be your Vice President? Somebody that I would have under consideration - Jeter."

Even the CNN voice over called it the ultimate Empire State pander.
