The only Speaker of the House in history to be reprimanded by the House of Representatives, Newt Gingrich, always has a warm welcome at Fox News, regardless of his abysmal record of making inaccurate predictions. Fox host, Maria Bartiromo asked him what he thinks about the RNC in July turning out to be a contested convention.
Apparently, a history of completely foolish predictions does not disqualify him as an 'expert.' It's stunning that such a hypocritical, philandering man is consulted at all. It's hard to find a single prediction that has been realized for quite some time now, especially when it comes to the Democratic Party.
This January, he insisted that Hillary Clinton will, assuredly, be indicted for the whole email fictional debacle.
"There is zero amount of doubt in my mind Hillary will be indicted," Gingrich said. "There is curiosity then about what the president and the attorney general do. ... If the FBI formally recommends indictment, and (Director James B. Comey) is turned down, I have to believe he has no choice but to resign. At that point, there is a media frenzy, you get congressional hearings and the presumption that Obama is covering up. If you're Barack Obama, do you like Hillary enough to do that? Is that the way you want to end your term?"
During his campaign for the GOP nod in 2012, he predicted that if President Obama won reelection, 'he would push gas to “$10 a gallon.'
Gingrich is certain that Donald Trump will win a landslide victory in his home state on Tuesday.
GINGRICH: If Trump gets above 60% it''ll be hard to imagine that Trump won't be the presumptive nominee at that point.
He praised Trump's recent 'dignified' appearance at a New York Republican dinner, where he sounded more presidential and more 'controlled.' Newt encourages Trump, if this comes to pass, to take over the mantle of the party and use the victory wave to his advantage going into other contests. It seems as if Gingrich believes that the Fox 'News' viewers have never heard of momentum, so he felt the need to explain the phenomenon.
His predictions for Ted Cruz and John Kasich are not terribly propitious. To combat Trump's locomotion, both men, especially Cruz, must enact some careful campaign strategizing on the ground, especially in the California primary in June. Gingrich speaks highly of the organizational structure of Ted Cruz's campaign. However, he fears that too many losses in the upcoming eastern U.S. primaries will be an insurmountable disadvantage, regardless of the prowess of Ted's campaign.
Gingrich states that if Trump is ahead at that point (in June), he will 'sweep the state and will become the inevitable nominee.' Neither Cruz nor Kasich will survive the momentum that Trump would have. Once again, winning begets winning, and New York could be the death blow to the other candidates.
He credits Bernie Sanders' current momentum with his 'outsider' status. He believes that's the best advantage for candidates on all sides of the aisle.
GINGRICH: Something's happening with the American people that's even more important than the candidates. There's an underlying conversation underway that the current structures don't work and they have to be profoundly changed

Perhaps Newt has grown tired of being so wrong on his forecasts, he steered clear of any wild predictions today? We can file today's Gingrich prophecy in the No Shit, Sherlock category. Regardless, his status as an 'expert' is never in jeopardy at Fox, no matter what he says or does.
