Over the weekend, the white supremacist group American Renaissance slammed Iowa voters with some really disgusting robocalls urging voters to vote for Donald Trump.

Jared Taylor, head of American Renaissance and their associated Super PAC, American National, is the voice on the call. Taylor declared his allegiance to Trump in September with the claim

Taylor tells voters, “I urge you to vote for Donald Trump because he is the one candidate who points out that we should accept immigrants who are good for America,”

He continued, “We don’t need Muslims. We need smart, well-educated white people who will assimilate to our culture. Vote Trump.”

The robocall also included endorsements from American Freedom Party founder William Johnson and a right-wing pastor by the name of Ronald Tan, reports TPM.

On CNN's State of the Union Sunday morning, Van Jones attributed the rise of white supremacists in this campaign straight to Donald Trump and his racist, fascist campaign rhetoric.

"This is troubling," said Jones. "If I were [Donald] Trump, this is a time to look in the mirror. Who am I inspiring? Who am I attracting? Why will horrible racist groups say I'm the only candidate that speaks for them?"

Narcissists don't look in the mirror and see anything other than how perfect they are. But it's still the right thing to say.

Jones went on to express the concerns many of us have voiced about the racist nature of Trump's campaign.

"This is what is -- my deep concern is that Donald Trump is beginning to legitimate some of the dark things that have been in our country for a long time, and now starting to let them elevate, let them rise."

Not only let them rise, but celebrate them. Nurture them, incubate them, invite them to be acted upon. Could anyone have imagined a primary campaign where the leading candidate lavished praise on Kim Jong Un because he murdered everyone in his government who stood up to him?

Donald Trump is the darkest candidate we have seen in a primary campaign since George Wallace.
