I'd say this movement is a bit more than a day late and a dollar short. Now that the locomotive named Donald Trump is unstoppably on a collision course with the RNC Presidential Nomination, the establishment is freaking out, to put it mildly. Instead of dealing with this 'dumpster fire' when they could possibly extinguish it, the GOP has let the personification of all the evil within their sick and twisted political party to fester into an unlancable cyst.
Back in December, things began to get real. But there wasn't anything they could really do about the monster THEY created. Donald Trump is the displaced and misspelled rage of the Tea Party, the greed of the ME, ME, ME party and the unbearable stupid of the Americuh, F*ck Yeah! movement all led by a reality television star and failed casino/real estate 'mogul.'
Every controversy, every a**hole comment seems to make him stronger. People are taking him a lot more seriously. The Huffington Post removed him from the entertainment page and put him back in politics, though comedians and other cultural figures continue to crack wise.
Of course, this is downplayed a bit more when Megyn Kelly introduced Rich Lowry of the National Review whose cover will raise some eyebrows in the Trump camp. In Lowry's typically boring fashion, he goes over Conservative principles that Trump simply doesn't really espouse. Twenty-two well-known Conservatives submitted their articles to tomorrow's edition of the N.R. They are listed below.
His contention is that Trump really doesn't truly understand the ideas and principles that make this country great, even if none of those principles have yet to work. Simply look at Minnesota since Pawlenty was replaced with Governor Mark Dayton and the statistics are staggeringly awesome. And none of the success is owed to anything Lowry or his desperate Conservative brigade of doom are preaching.
The reason Gov. Dayton was able to radically transform Minnesota's economy into one of the best in the nation is simple arithmetic. Raising taxes on those who can afford to pay more will turn a deficit into a surplus. Raising the minimum wage will increase the median income. And in a state where education is a budget priority and economic growth is one of the highest in the nation, it only makes sense that more businesses would stay. It's official -- trickle-down economics is bunk. Minnesota has proven it once and for all. If you believe otherwise, you are wrong.
Eds: And the screw turns. Buzzfeed reports that the RNC is "disinviting the magazine from hosting a debate because of an anti-Donald Trump symposium it published."
National Review publisher Jack Fowler told BuzzFeed News in an email Thursday night that he was not surprised that the RNC had rescinded its invitation to the magazine to co-host a GOP debate next month. “That said I would argue that the RNC should have waited for someone to complain, if someone was going to,” Fowler said. “The presumption is that our moderator / participant would not have asked an intelligent / fair question.”

Today, America's White Supremacist journal-of-record not only dropped a big snotty "think piece" rebuking Donald Trump for sweeping in and Pied-Piper-ing all of their chumps and meatheads away, but they turned to such leading thinkers as Erick Erickson and Glenn Beck to help swing the axe.
In response, the apparatchiks of the Party of chumps and meatheads told America's White Supremacist journal-of-record that they could no longer play in their reindeer games.
