Gov. Chris Christie must be emboldened by his recent New Hampshire endorsement so he attacked Donald Trump for promoting the phony "cheering NJ Muslim" story today.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Monday that Donald Trump was wrong when he said that Muslims cheered in the streets of New Jersey after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
"It didn't happen and the fact is, people can say anything but the facts are the facts and that didn't happen in New Jersey that day and hasn't happened since," Christie said Monday.
Trump was later asked to respond to Christie's criticisms and he quickly painted the New Jersey governor as a weakling.
Reporter:...(Christie)...today he said that didn't happen and you should stop talking about.
Trump: Well, you know he didn't say that the other day, he was very weak the other day so the other day he said it like, "well, he doesn't know," and now I guess he feels a little bit emboldened. He must be careful on what he says.
Things are finally starting to heat up between candidates who have kept away from attacking each other. Now that Christie chimed in, he'll be in Trump's crosshairs for sure.
