Since it will definitely be Tom's last time performing on Letterman, he decided to send the host off with a brand new song, which perfectly fit the mood with the end of the show in its current form approaching. Tom seems to have always maintained a certain level of quality in his music, which is probably due to constant experimentation and deliberate avoidance of stagnation. Hopefully more young artists will take a page out of Tom's book and do the same in order to maintain long, artistically fulfilling careers.
