At 89 years old, King has been touring up until last year, which is pretty impressive. He had to cancel the last few dates due to an illness and has been recovering since then. While King has been put in hospice care, his longtime business manager and current power-of-attorney, Laverne Toney has stated that King is "where he wishes to be" and that "he's always told me he doesn't want to be in a hospital. He wants to be at home." Although the truth behind this is currently being debated, since King's children have alleged abuse by Toney, so it'll be interesting to see what happens when the real story comes out. Hopefully King is truly where he wants to be and he's ready for whatever comes next. He's certainly done his part as a performer and songwriter.
