When Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) announced his candidacy for president on Monday, he did everything he could to stress how much younger and fresher he is than Hillary Clinton. But in Morning Joe host Mika Brzezinski‘s eyes, that is not necessarily a selling point.
“If we’re having this conversation and you think of Marco Rubio’s announcement that we’ve been watching all morning long and talking about and you measure up accomplishments and ability to weather the storm, an ability to have had experience that might apply for this job,” she said, “this is not even a conversation.”
“She eats him for lunch,” Brzezinski said of the potential Clinton vs. Rubio match-up, rejecting Joe Scarborough‘s analogy to Barack Obama vs. John McCain in 2008. “Maybe this is my ideology speaking,” she said, “but I’m sorry, that’s a little boy and that’s an experienced, accomplished woman that’s been elected to the Senate twice, who’s served as first lady, who’s served as secretary of state.”
