Fox "news" resident curmudgeon took a few shots at Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid following the announcement that Reid will not run for reelection next year. It seems Charles Krauthammer is none too happy with Reid for blocking a good deal of the Republicans' agenda since losing their majority in the Senate. I have to wonder if he ever accused Mitch McConnell of "emasculating" the Senate when he vowed he was going to obstruct everything the Democrats wanted to get passed for the sake of obstruction itself and to make President Obama a "one term president."
Here's more from Fox's blog: Krauthammer: Harry Reid 'a Disgrace to His Own Institution':
It doesn’t sound like Charles Krauthammer will miss Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, who today announced he would not seek re-election.
“Harry we hardly knew ye, and what we did know, we didn’t like,” Krauthammer said on “Special Report.”
Krauthammer said that he wasn’t against Reid being a partisan, but explained, “I do think he was a disgrace to his own institution because he emasculated it in the name of protecting the president and trying to re-elect Democrats.”
Krauthammer also charged Reid with shutting down the Senate as soon as Republicans took the House in 2010.
Of course, this is nothing new for Krauthammer, who was carrying on about Reid using the "nuclear-option" back in 2013, which Steve Benen discussed here: Right enraged by filibuster tactics they once embraced.
