Usually conservatives turn their backs on progress and instead harken to the old days, but for some reason when it comes to the Pledge Of Allegiance, the "originalists" in them seems to vaporize.

I don't blame this young woman from feeling the way she does because she only knows what she's been taught.

A New Jersey teenager who stood up against atheists seeking to legally remove the phrase "one nation under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance, declared victory in court last Friday after a state judge dismissed the case.

I've had this clip of the pledge from the 1945 movie The Bells of St Mary's sitting on my servers for a long time and finally found a good use for it. Notice---there is no "under God" in it.
