When the court ruled to not give jail time to convicted felon Dinesh D'Souza, he breathed a sigh of relief, but not everybody is happy with the verdict.
Conservative filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza's ex-wife alleged in a letter sent this week to the federal court that heard his criminal case that D'Souza was abusive, that he lied in his defense against the criminal charges, and implied D'Souza had manipulated the couple's daughter into making positive public statements about him.
On the day before D'Souza was sentenced, Dixie sent a letter to U.S. District Judge Richard Berman and, after outlining allegations of lies and abuse, urged him to "impose a just sentence." The letter was published by the Smoking Gun.'The D'Souzas are in the midst of a divorce battle, according to the New York Daily News, and Dixie has accused D'Souza of infidelity.
To start, Dixie contradicted the claims made by D'Souza's attorney Benjamin Brafman in his defense. She quoted Brafman saying that she had "implicitly authorized him over the course of their marriage to handle all of the couple's financial affairs."
"I cannot allow these statements, and other comments made by the defendant, go unanswered," Dixie wrote. "Nothing Mr. Brafman said on my behalf was remotely correct. Now I must take this opportunity to speak for myself and truly let the record be complete."
As we all know, Dinesh has been linked to having an affair with a married woman after her husband made a tape recording and turned it over to the prosecutors in D'Souza's case:
Prosecutors also said they had obtained a copy of a recording made surreptitiously last October by the husband of a woman Mr. D’Souza was involved with romantically around the time of the donations, when Mr. D’Souza was separated from his wife. In making the recording, the husband was not acting at the government’s direction, prosecutors said. The woman, Denise Joseph, was one of the alleged straw donors.
If this is at all accurate you can see what a major league scumbucket he is. We do know one thing for sure, he's not the man Christian conservatives thought he was. Sure, he's spinning his recent woes into an attack on him because he's a conservative, but the evidence shows he's just an ordinary conservative conman who makes movies.
Or as Jake LaMotta says, "He ain't pretty no more."
