It was founded by Zach Dawes, Tyler Parkford, and Michael Shuman back in 2009, when Shuman's other band, Queens of the Stone Age, had decided to take a break after finishing up a tour. I was a little skeptical when these guys first came on stage, considering that they had this strange, half-drumset that the drummer had to stand up to play. Although, when they started playing, their performance put my apprehension to rest pretty quickly. In their set was a strange rendition of Blondie's "Heart of Glass," but in a much darker, mellowed-out tone. It stuck with me though, and I'll definitely be sure to catch these guys if they're doing another show in my town anytime soon.
Ever see a band live that you hadn't heard of before?
