President Obama's interview with Zach Galifianakis is driving traffic to Healthcare.gov, and wingers just can't stand it.
March 11, 2014

Despite the best efforts of right-wing billionaires and ideologues, Obamacare is gaining popularity and enrollments. We're in the final stretch of the 2014 open enrollment period and so President Obama is doing whatever he needs to do to get people to sign up, including this hysterically funny interview.

Villagers were predictably annoyed:

ABC's Jim Avila peppered White House Press Secretary Jay Carney with questions during a daily press briefing about President Obama's appearance on FunnyOrDie.com's interview series with actor Zach Galifianakis. The president plugged HealthCare.gov during the interview, a part of a concerted effort to reach young Americans.

"How much discussion was there in the White House about the dignity of the office and whether or not, in order to reach these people who don't watch us at 6:30, or who don't watch this briefing," Avila asked, according to a transcript provided to TPM, "how much the dignity of the office might be lost? This is an interview like no other probably ever done by a president."

Because you know, the Villagers have been so fair and balanced in their coverage of the rollout, right?

Right wingers let their insanity guide them. This tweet from Tammy Bruce only lacked the requisite hashtag for #Benghazi insanity:

There's lots more, but you get the idea. Beyond the fact that simply mentioning Obamacare makes their eyes cross and steam come out of their ears, there's the undisputable fact that one six-minute interview is driving huge numbers of people to Healthcare.gov. Young people. The type of people that right-wingers desperately hope will turn against the president and flock to them in 2014.
