If you are spiritual, thank God -- but if you're not, praise Mother Earth for bringing us Chloë Sevigny. She was incredible in HBO's wonderful "Big Love" and just as entertaining playing a preoperative transgender hit man/woman. I have no idea why the Brits canceled the highly entertaining Hit & Miss. Anyway, A&E picked up another good Danish import called "Those Who Kill" and turned it into their newest series. Unlike The Killing and The Bridge, TWK didn't have great ratings in Denmark, but it sets up well for American TV and A&E didn't disappoint their viewers with the pilot episode. If you haven't seen it yet I won't mention any spoilers, but I will say that if you missed the first episode it's free online or as in my case, on DirecTV's video on demand.
Stand alone serial killer shows can quickly turn into a huge bore like Criminal Minds has always been (OK, a few episodes with Mandy Patinkin were good, but that's a long time ago) but there seems to be a season long story arc developing from the very first scene and an ambiguity set within Catherine Jensen (Chloë Sevigny) as well. After the initial setup, the episode provides plenty of chills and good moments for our hero and Sevigny handles it well.
